Artcurial Motorcars Paris 10/06/2013, estimate 50 / 70 000 euros.
During the car's unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show in 1962, the Jaguar E-Type had the effect of a bombshell. Never had there been such a bold form, with that amazing profile matching outstanding performance, thanks to a six-cylinder twin cam engine that was, in the heydays of Jaguar's motorsport success, a great powertrain for both the road and for racing.
It was in 1984 that the current owner bought this car, which belonged to a butcher in Perpignan. It was restored in 1989, a worker working full time for one year to complete this restoration. The front subframe and important suspension elements were replaced, and a folder of invoices reveals the quantum of work. Since its thorough restoration, the car has covered very little, with the counter showing just 2,201 km. Very Importantly the car starred at the wedding of the owner. Gray, with black leather upholstery the cars is well preserved despite some rust spots on the chrome, this E-Type is in very fine condition. It has been carefully stored and its restoration has withstood the test of time. It comes accompanied by its user manual, but as the car has not turned a wheel over the last ten years, a mechanical revision will be required before it can be used normally. It represents a great opportunity to acquire a car that has had very few owners, a car that has been the object of attentive care by its owner. Moreover, the Series 1 Coupe offers the car in its very purest form, the shape that stunned its audience in 1962. For its new owner, it will be a source of visual emotion and driving pleasure.
