Need history information on this car. I purchased it in 1991 from Newton Withers. It had previously been raced and had two tiny seats in rear like someone wanted to enter a 4 seat class in the 60's Has been lightened with small aerodynamic mods. Gets attention everywhere.Cunningham lookalike white paint with blue stripes. Original was light blue metallic. Interior put back original and Vintage race updated by XKs Unlimited in 1999 but never raced. Fully street legal but now with fuel cell. Have original fuel tank.
Who owned and raced this car in 60's or 70's?

Current bid $25,000, no reserve, 1 bid 6 days left in auction. 80k miles.
Sellers description:
1963 Jaguar XKE fixed head coupe. Chassis # 888565. Engine # RA1837-9. Body # V5760. Gearbox # EB9971JS.
A rare opportunity to purchase a street legal E Type that was raced in the 1960s. I do not have the history but this advertisement may uncover some. Has original black plates IZW350. It is a Cunningham lookalike with matching paint and body.
Present owner purchased this California car in 1991. Was updated to current racing regulations in 1991 by XKs Unlimited. Have all the bills for new brakes with NASCAR style cooling and carbon pads, race radiator and cooling system, electrical update, Mallory ignition, hoses. triple carb re-build with competition air intake system, shocks, springs, competition clutch, and much more.
Complete rear IRS subframe assembly and front suspension with steering were removed and rebuilt.
New roll cage . Beautiful aluminum work in rear of car enclosing fuel cell, on board fire sytem, battery box, and rear brake cooling..
New Minilite wheels with Hoosier tires.
Engine in great condition. Good oil pressure. Accusump oiling system.
1960s style chrome side pipes.
My plan was to update and race this beauty but it never happened. The money was invested but it never saw the race track.
This Jag has small flares since 1960s when it ran on Borrani style wheels. Has been lightened with removal of heating sytem , bumpers, etc. Aerodynamic work on the stock steel bonnet. Monza fuel cap covers original filler that goes to fuel cell.
I have all original fuel tank, factory wire wheels with street tires, sundry parts and a spare engine complete with carbs and exhaust manifolds.
A very reluctant sale but she has to go to a new home where she will be appreciated.

Car to be at auction 7/12

Auction description:
Silverstone Classic Sale
1963 Jaguar E-Type Series I Fixedhead Coupe to Fast-Road Spec
Registration: BHK 267A
Chassis Number: 888565
Engine Number: RA1837-9
Number of cylinders: 6
CC: 3.8
Year of Manufacture: 1963
Estimate (£): 40,000 - 45,000
The E-Type offered here is a super example having been subject to a full rebuild to fast-road/light-race specification. The car had an extensive build to its current specification in the USA to a high standard, as can be seen in the vast history file, and no bolt was left unturned. The car features beautiful aluminium work in the rear of car enclosing a fuel cell, an on-board fire system, battery box, and rear brake cooling.
We understand that the car had minimal use and shortly after its completion it was shipped to the UK circa 2007, where again it had very little use before finding its way to our current vendor. As the vendor is busy with countless other XK projects this E-Type once again has found itself unused and looking for a new home.
Retaining much of its standard appearance this car would be ideal for road rallies such as the Tour Britannia being, as it is, built for speed but with comfort and usability in mind.
With a superb history file this car is a great opportunity to purchase a real driver's E-type that is equally at home on the roads as it is on the race track.
