Car listed as sold at:

Seller's description:

The color combination of this Jaguar E type is perhaps one of the most classic, iconic and timeless that one can imagine, but for this very reason it remains one of the most fascinating, and often associated with the myth of Diabolik. The black Jaguars were sold in large numbers precisely for the ideal combination of the comic created in those years, and it is still the first thought of those who see it darting along the street today!

E-Type series 1 Coupe

04/1963

Manual Transmission

Steering LHD

Chassis number 888479

Engine RA 1624-9

This car was sold new by the Jaguar dealer in New York on April 24, 1963, in the current color scheme and with all components currently installed, i.e. engine, gearbox and body, as per heritage certificate.

It has spent most of its life with the same owner in California, documents present attest that he kept it from 1978 until 2018. Year in which, once sold to a dealer, the car returned to Europe, before in Holland and later in Italy.

Subject of a total restoration between 2018 and 2020, the car is finished and ready to be run in, it retains many original parts, including all the original blued glass, and all the numbers that the production wrote in pastel behind the instruments and underneath. the dashboard to then recognize on which car they were mounted.

There are many photos regarding the various phases, from the discovery to the restoration, and as many invoices to testify the completeness of the restoration carried out.

The car has an American registration document and a Dutch customs clearance note, and is therefore ready to be registered in Italy or in any other European country.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
