Note: More photos of the E Type coming soon
This E Type was born on February 11, 1963 and was delivered to the German Jaguar importer Peter Lindner in Frankfurt. First owner was J.V. Masin, known to be a member of the American army, stationed in Frankfurt. Registered on him in the USA.
The next owners were private individuals in Wuppertal, Schwelm, Kassel and Schweinfurt until 1969. In September 1968 a new correct 3.8 ltr. Replacement engine, No. R 5146-9, fitted with a 1961 block identification.
All owners and the engine swap are officially documented in the existing original old cardboard letter.
From 1969 the E Type was shut down and stored.
A good 20 years later, the coupe in complete and good condition, unfortunately with a slightly dented bonnet, was bought by a JAGUAR specialist as a restoration object. He never started the restoration.
In 2012 the car was offered and bought by a well known British car specialist, specifically JAGUAR, and has been fully Nut & Bolt restored with a lot of time and dedication over 5 years.
The entire E Type was disassembled into its individual parts. The critical cavities of the body were opened, intensively processed, conserved and closed again with new, adapted metal sheets. New floor pans and wheel arches were installed, the unfortunately dented bonnet was replaced with an aluminum bonnet. Luckily the front frame of the E Type was not damaged at all and is the original. All welding seams were smoothed and given the correct surface shape with elaborately applied tin.
After completion of the sheet metal work, the body was KTL coated. The new painting in the original delivery color Carmen Red was carried out with a lot of time for the surfaces to harden in over 1 year.
The entire technology from the engine to the transmission and the chassis was also completely dismantled and rebuilt. The interior has been completely renewed except for a few individual parts.
A stainless steel exhaust manifold, a stainless steel exhaust system and drop center spoked rims are mounted. All work is photo-documented. In addition, the original and rare jack and the tool bag are with the vehicle.
The result is a dreamlike early 3.8 ltr. E Type Coupe in perfect condition. The body fits and gaps are excellent, all work has been carried out technically and historically correct. This is not a matter of course.
500 km have already been driven after the complete restoration in order to eliminate any weak points. The coupe runs perfectly and like a 3.8 ltr. E Type has to feel and drive. A dream car in the 1960s just like today.
We look forward to your inquiry. Even after the purchase, we are at your disposal with our specialist workshop and our services.
