Ebay item 4/13/15
royalcoachlimo.com/) and when a friend spotted this Jaguar he knew I would want it. The owner had bought the Jag in 1986 and parked it in his body shop to restore it, he stripped it down and painted it in the early 1990's and then lost interest and left the E-type in a corner of his busy shop. I promptly bought the E-type from him but a few months down the road I have realized that I have too many commitments (two restoration projects in progress) to restore this Jag in the forseeable future, so my loss is your gain and I am selling her. Below is a categorized description of the Jag.

BODY- The car is essentially rust free with only minor surface oxidization on the inner footwells and boot floor. The panel fit is excellent and the doors shut easily. There are no rust bubbles coming through the paint and a magnet sticks everywhere on the body. The paint is over 20 years old but is still glossy and looks great until close inspection. The color is dark blue but it was originally cotswold blue and can still be seen under the bonnet. There are no dents on the body but it does have a couple of dings no bigger than a finger nail and a few small scratches. the body number is V5263.

BRIGHTWORK- The chrome rates from good to missing. The A pillar chrome is missing as is the hatch glass chrome. The front passenger side bumper needs rechroming.

GLASS- The glass is in very good condition with no pits even on the headlight glass. The windshield and hatch glass are brand new with new seals.

MECHANICALS- The E-type does not run. When I first bought the car I oiled the cylinders and put a battery in it and the engine cranked over easily by the key and starter button. I have not tried to fire up the engine as it is missing the radiator, fuel pump, exhaust and plug wires and I have not had the time to pursue it. The 3.8 litre triple carb engine is original to the car (R9975-9) as is the gearbox (see photos) but the cylinder head is from an early E-type with a ID# R1432. The head has its original pumpkin orange color showing through and it is off one of the first 500 external bonnet lock E-types. The gearbox shifts through its gears and all of the braking system is present. The car is sitting on a matched set of 1970's tires and will need replacing. The electrical wiring appears to be in good original unmolested condition.

INTERIOR- the dashboard, gauges and switches are in good condition and the interior upholstery panels are original as they have the cars body number on them but they will need replacing. The carpet, headliner and one sun visor are missing, and the original clamshell seats will need new leather. This Jag has the recessed rear bulkhead to allow for more seat movement rearward and the recessed footwells which allows it to accomadate 6 foot tall person unlike the earlier models. The car also has the original rare aluminium center consule and dash.

I already own a 1963 Jaguar E-type roadster and love driving it fast and slow, my hope is that this beautiful coupe finds a new owner who can get it on the road soon so it can drive again.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
