This 1963 Jaguar XKE is a Series I coupe that was refurbished and modified under previous ownership before being acquired by the current owner three years ago. The car is finished in burgundy over beige leather and powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six mated to a replacement five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes chrome 15″ wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, triple SU carburetors, an aluminum radiator, chrome bumpers, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a Blaupunkt push-button radio. An oil change was performed in August 2022. This XKE is now offered by the owner’s grandson in Oklahoma with service and refurbishment records, literature, spare parts, a service manual, owner’s manuals, and a clean Idaho title.
The body was repainted in Opalescent Maroon during previous ownership, and exterior features include split chrome bumpers, triple windshield wipers, dual side mirrors, glass headlight covers, and dual exhaust outlets. Paint blemishes and a cracked rear seal on the trunk are visible.
Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off spinners and are mounted with 205/70 Pirelli P4 All Season tires. A spare is mounted in the rear cargo area. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The cabin features low-back seats retrimmed in beige leather upholstery with burgundy piping along with matching door panels, sills, sides of the console, and contrasting burgundy carpets. Textured aluminum trims the dashboard and center console, and additional equipment includes lap seatbelts, a heater, a cigar lighter, and a Blaupunkt push-button radio.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel shows cracks and sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, an analog clock, and centrally positioned auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 99k miles, approximately 3k of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.8-liter inline-six features triple SU side-draft carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower. An aluminum radiator with an electric fan has been added. An oil change was performed in August 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a replacement five-speed manual transmission.
An owner’s manual will accompany the car along with refurbishment records and photos, a service manual, a car cover, literature, artwork, judging sheets, and removed parts.
