Description: Jaguar : XKE
1963 Coupe Complete Restoration Project
Miles: 91273 Doors: 2 doors
Transmission: Manual Interior: Red
Engine: 6 - Cyl. Year: 1963
VIN Number: 888129 Exterior: Black
Vehicle Description: Completely disassembled 1963 XKE Coupe.
Some XKE aficionado's believe the '63 Coupe to be the best all time driving XKE's. 1963 was the last year for the high revving 3.8 liter before the slower revving 4.2 liter. It's also the last year for the covered headlights. This car is a late model '63 and includes a full synchro gear box. Most of you reading this knows this already.
This car is a serious restoration project for the professional restorer or advanced hobbyist. This is not a parts or junk car.
There are very few if any early E-types that do not have rust. There are some rust issues that need to be repaired but you can see what you’re getting. Don't be fooled by XKE's that look good on the surface, but are rusting from the inside out.
This is a complete car down to the nuts and bolts. Fix it and put it back together and your will have a very valuable car.
Partially listing of new parts:
New radiator for better cooling, fan motor, mount, and bronze expansion tank.
Original engine completely rebuilt, stored with Marvel mystery oil in cylinders and turned by hand regularly. Includes original triple SU carburetors.
Original 4 speed all syncro-mesh transmission completely rebuilt.
All new rubber for all seals including windshield seals.
Many sub-assemblies are rebuilt and ready to bolt on.
New Koni shocks all around. Price these for a shock! :-)
Front and rear suspension needs rebuilding. All required parts included. Just do the work.
Complete manuals included and lots of EJag magazines.
Rear differential needs rebuilt.
All chrome work is included but will need replacement.
Correct seats and interior parts. You will need a complete interior kit and refinish.
Bonnet is complete but will require rebuilding.
Also included in this sale is a second engine (no carbs). Good for core only.
Spare Moss transmission. Good for core only.
Vehicle Condition: Needs ground up restoration. Engine and transmission has been rebuilt but needs detailing. All other new parts included except for interior kit. There are a few trim parts and a few odd bits here and there missing.
