Ebay item 9/28/08
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-Coupe-1964-Series-1-numbers-matching-XKE-c ...
Current bid $10,100 reserve not met, 3 bids, 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
This numbers matching E-type has a completly re-built engine done by Dells Automotive Machine Shop of Sacramento Ca. It has a hi-performance clutch, big bore stainless steel exhaust from the header to the tail pipe for cooler operation. The distributor is a Mallory unit for much better reliability. All parts were premium quality from XK Unlimited of San Luis Obispo Ca. I spent over $12000 on the engine re-build. The brakes are Wilwood disc all around with stainless steel brake lines for much safer braking capacity. The brake project was almost $6000. All installation work was done by John's Jaguar of San Francisco Ca.
The body is a strong driver with straight lines. It is shiny from twenty feet as you can see in the pictures. There is a small dent on the bonnet where I got bumped in a parking lot. There is also a small dent where the driver side door opened too wide. The odometer needs to be re-built and the dash needs to be replaced. I have a replacement dash but it is not installed. This is a very fast 150MPH car that is great fun to drive. It drives like new and could go anywhere. All you need to do is the fun part to have a six figure show car. I have done the dog work.
