Ebay item 6/21/09
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-1963-Jaguar-XKE-Coupe-Ground-Up-Restor ...
Current bid $35,100 reserve not met, 4 bids 4 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
1963 Jaguar XKE Coupe. This prime covered headlight example received a complete professional, body-off-frame restoration. ($140k). No expense or attention to detail was spared. Owned by the current owner since 1971, the restoration was completed in 2006 with now only 900 miles. This car sits, sounds and looks extremely handsome with a classic color combination. If you are seeking an investment quality Jaguar XKE, this car can now be yours.
Features:
Expertly Rebuilt Double Overhead Cam 3.8 Litre 6 Cylinder Engine
Original 4 Speed Manual Transmission Which Has Been Rebuilt & Re-Fitted For Authenticity (To Retain The Unique Sound in First Gear for the Vintage Driving Experience)
Vintage-Correct Manifold
45- DCOE Webers (Time Period Correct)
J&E Forged Piston Set
Carrillo Connecting Rods
Original Rebuilt Generator For Authenticity
All New Wiring
New Koni Shocks
Full Leather Interior
All New Rubber & Weatherstrip
Removable Roll Bar
Master Disconnect Switch
Alloy Race Wheels
Condition: Exceptional overall condition. Pride of ownership is evident. The odometer reads the original heritage factory mileage of 66,030. Mileage since restoration is approximately 900 miles. All restoration invoices come with this sale. Paint and body are straight, sharp and detailed. The interior is as-new. Engine and bay are detailed, clean and dry. The undercarriage is as clean and detailed as the exterior of the car. Minor imperfections: The clock needs repair. There is a nick on one of the driver's side hood vents. A 1/2" hairline scratch was noticed above the back driver's side wheel well. (Too small for my camera to photograph). The steering needs to be re-fitted into the column. It has some play, but is drivable. All in all, this is a prime example.
