GT Butler offers you this Jaguar Type E series 1, French, with a very complete history and in superb condition!

The example we are offering you is a very rare Type E series 1 of French origin, matching numbers and matching colors. The vehicle has only had 5 owners since 1977 and its history confirms a mileage of only 163,000 km!

CONFIGURATION & HISTORY

This Type E left the factory in a very beautiful Opalescent Gunmetal livery and gray leather upholstery. It benefits from the 3.8L 6-cylinder, powered by 3 SU carburettors and developing 265HP. The transmission is entrusted to a 4-speed MOSS mechanical gearbox.

The vehicle is still strictly in this configuration today: body color, upholstery, chassis, engine and gearbox being those of origin.

Our Jaguar was delivered new in October 1962 by the importer "Royal-Elysées F. Delecroix Paris". She then always stayed in the Paris region! Almost all of the registration documents from the various owners are present, allowing us to trace the history of the vehicle. In Yvelines from 1977 - 1981, then in Hauts-de-Seine owned by Mr Bareille until 1985. Still 1992 - Mr Bergouignan (Mme Le Guernec), it was sold in 1992 - Mr Bergouignan (dpt. 91), who will keep it until June 2021, when its current owner will take possession of it.

The vehicle file takes up an entire binder. Numerous invoices are present, going back as far as 1983. And all the vehicle's technical inspections have been present since 1992... with a frequency of 2-3 years, the vehicle being on standard registration and not in collection!

MAINTENANCE & WORK

This E-Type has been carefully maintained by its last owners. Nearly €10,000 in costs have been incurred in recent years.

A major overhaul was carried out in 2021, with the complete recovery of the braking circuit, the replacement of the rims and tires, the change of the universal joint crossmembers, the removal of the front axle, the replacement of the 4 shock absorbers, the replacement of the 4 shock absorbers, replacement of the clutch receiver,... The double exhaust silencer, in stainless steel, was replaced in 2017.

A simple maintenance was carried out in 2023.

On the upholstery side, the leather of the backrests and the seats (foam and suspensions) have been recently redone, offering very appreciable comfort.

Previously, numerous invoices reveal extensive engine and chassis restoration work between 1998 and 2002.

The vehicle has also benefited from an improvement in the braking system (AP Racing), polyurethane front axle silent blocks and an additional anel electric fan.

It works perfectly, starts very well both cold and hot and offers a driving experience beyond reproach.

STATE

The bodywork, glazing and chrome are in very good condition, with no major defects. The paint, in its period color, offers a superb shine and shows no scratches or damage. The rims sound almost new and free from any defects.

The interior is in very good condition and has a magnificent patina. The original car radio is present but it does not work. The other electrical equipment is perfectly functional.

The vehicle has been appraised on several occasions, making it possible to complete a very detailed history and to confirm the care taken in its preservation over the years.

In 1992, the expert estimated its value at 285,000 francs and noted significant work for a complete restoration. In 1996, the same expert recorded 1000 km since the restoration and put the value of the vehicle at 200,000 francs. In 2006, a more in-depth assessment indicated a "very beautiful Coupé Type E", "restored some time ago and in very good condition" (34,000 km on the odometer, estimate €48,000). In 2018 the expertise mentioned a complete restoration 10 years later and confirmed a "very beautiful general presentation" and a "vehicle maintained with care by its owner" (value €125,000).

Finally, the current owner had a Type E assessment carried out last May by the YAB firm. The expert reveals a "rare vehicle of French origin [...] in a rare and beautiful state of conservation", indicating a value of €135,000.

The vehicle is delivered with its two sets of keys and its complete history as detailed above. A full guarantee of 3 to 36 months can be taken out.

Don't let this exceptional Type E pass you by. From the most beautiful series, with a superb configuration and above all a history which will guarantee you the greatest pleasure at the wheel and the best rating in the collection.
