For sale on eBay UK

1962 Jaguar E-type Series 1 FHC (flat floor)
1962 JAGUAR E-TYPE SERIES 1 (FLAT FLOOR)
I have owned this lovely car since 1990 and alas have to now sell it to pay off the mortgage.
I brought it back from California and converted it to RHD but still have all the LHD components and these are to be sold with the car.
This car is not restored and like new but has been used regularly, is always garaged and maintained regardless of cost.
The coachwork is exceptionally good and has recently been repainted. The interior is largely original except the seats which are new.
It is currently running a 4.2 engine whilst the 3.8 is being overhauled.
The braking system on the car is that of a series 1 - 4.2lt. All the original 3.8 brake components have been retained.
The differential ratio is 3.31 but I do also have a 3.07 (original UK spec)
The sale price is for the car as it is.
If the buyer wishes to have the car returned to LHD please add £2000.
If the buyer wishes to have the 3.8lt engine fitted please add £3500.
If the buyer wishes to have the 3.07 diff fitted (to include having the speedo recalibrated) please add £1500.
If the buyer wishes to have the original braking system fitted please add £1500
I hope that all makes sense!

Now for sale at Historics of Brooklands

1962 Jaguar E-Type Series I FHC 'Flat Floor'
Registration 404 XUM
Chassis Number 885 499
Engine Number R3637-9
Odometer reading 87,510 miles
Price: £72,000
It is well documented that the ultimate in collectors' E-Type is the early example of the Series I fixedhead coupé with the original flat floor. This particular model, built in 1961 and first registered in 1962 was stripped rebuilt and converted to a right hand drive car by the current owner who purchased the car in 1990 whilst working in Torrence California, having been inspired by 'Across the Lake', a documentary starring Sir Antony Hopkins as Donald Campbell CBE. The vendor sought out a suitable E-Type and drove it across America and down Route 66 before shipping it back to his home in the UK where it has since been used and cared for. The car itself is in good condition and has certainly been enjoyed, but well looked after. It presents very well, in metallic blue with deep red leather interior that has recently been re-trimmed. Under the bonnet, we are informed that the engine was replaced at some point whilst in the US with a like-for-like 3.8 litre unit which the vendor has since had overhauled along with the gearbox and thus, should represent a solid example. Indeed there was the suggestion that he would be driving the car to London from his home some 300+ miles away which should give any potential bidder significant confidence. Offered with V5C registration document, original bill of sale and every MoT test certificate since 2009, this Flat Floor represents a fantastic opportunity to claim ownership of the ultimate example of Jaguar's beautiful E-Type and, with a very attractive estimate, should appeal to any collector, investor or enthusiast.
