Sellers description:
1964 XKE CONVERTIBLE WITH FORD 302 AND AUTOMATIC
This xke has european great looks with american reliability. You can live in any small town anywhere and get this worked on. Your wife/girlfriend/mother/father can drive it since its an automatic. The engine runs strong and accelerates fast. All the guages work and the mechanical oil pressure guage reads 50lbs at normal temp and 50 mph. This is Extremely good oil pressure as good stock xke engines have about 40lbs. The carburetor has just been completely rebuilt and the result is smooth idling and Very Fast acceleration. The center bulge of the bonnet has been raised slightly to clear the carburetor. This is modification is all metal. To help the car run cool, a vent has been cut in the bottom front belly pan under the nose. There is a mechanical switch inside for the fan. The result is a cool running engine. The floors and rockers have been replaced and are all solid. A magnet sticks everywhere. There are some bubbles around the rear tag area and some small holes in the trunk bottom. All the chrome is in good condition. The 302 has been installed without any modification to the original frame rails. The original number plate is still on the car. So, it would be possible to take the car back to stock if desired. There is no convertible top, and the result is a very streamlined look. There is an aftermarket hardtop in fair condition. The top would need painting to look sharp. The paint on the car itself looks very good for a driver even though there are some chips and scrapes that have been touched up. The tires are 185X65X15 and have like new tread. These tires make the car have a very nice low profile. All the looks and fun of an xke convertible without all the expense, tuning, and electrical problems. This is a great looking car that will not give you clutch leg in traffic, can be maintained in any town, and driven by anyone in your family.
