The original matching numbers E-Type Roadster offered here is an example of superb craftsmanship. Every component has been rebuilt or replaced by a marque specialist firm whose goal was perfection in their no-expense-spared restoration. Much of the chassis and many other parts, including top bows and seat frames, were powder coated and finished to perfection. All mechanics were completely rebuilt to factory standards including the 3.8 liter engine, which is numbers matching as well, and calibrated with new pistons, bearings, valves, guides, seals and timing chain. In addition, the head, transmission and rear end
were also completely rebuilt, as were the carburetors, clutch, undercarriage and fuel pump. New suspension, new exhaust, new wiring harness and new brakes were installed. The drive shaft was balanced, the shocks were restored and the gas tank was restored and epoxy sealed. All electrical components, gauges, knobs, switches were rebuilt, rescreened or replaced and a new triplex windshield was installed.

The body was stripped to the bare metal with all the appropriate work done while the doors, bonnets and boot were refitted to the attractive coachwork, upgrading the E-Type to better than new condition. All panels were then epoxy sealed, painted, color sanded and buffed to an incomparable high gloss. All brightwork and trim were replaced or replated, in addition to all new rubber, seals, grommets and gaskets. Finished in sand with a completely new tan interior, and fitted with a tan Stayfast top, this car comes complete with five matching chrome wire wheels and new tires. This car has been done to concours show quality with lots of time spent on detail and quality throughout the restoration process.

Undoubtedly this is one of the finest examples of an E-Type roadster for sale today and we understand the Jaguar has less than 100 testing miles since restoration. Additionally, it is rare that we have the pleasure of offering an E-Type finished in this attractive color scheme and its overall look and presentation make it an impressive sight to behold. The new owner will also receive a CD detailing the extensive restoration this car has undergone. We encourage close examination of this Jaguar as more than likely this example will be wearing a JCNA ribbon following its very next outing.

    • Expertly restored by Classic Showcase Inc.
    • Only 850 miles since completion

This wonderful E-Type has undergone a comprehensive, documented restoration by Classic Showcase, of Oceanside, California, during which no expense was spared. From the outset, the car was evaluated, inspected, and photographed. Then it was disassembled, stripped to bare metal, placed on a rotisserie, metal finished, leaded, prepared for primer, sealer, paint, base and clear coat, color sanded, and buffed to a fabulous finish. Along with a new windshield and door glass, all mechanical systems and components were rebuilt or replaced, as needed. The engine and four-speed transmission were rebuilt to factory specifications, as well as the rear end and suspension. All other systems, such as the electricals, hydraulic system, cooling system, and fuel system, were restored or replaced, and the car received an all new wire harness and new rubber and grommets.

This E-Type sits on 15-inch wire wheels and has a one inch smaller steering wheel for better handling. It also has a Sony AM/FM CD stereo system in the radio console. The top bows and seat frames were restored, and the car also received a complete new custom tailored and fitted interior in the correct materials by Classic Showcase's upholstery department. Finished in a spectacular Golden Sand over tan leather, this is a wonderful E-Type for any discerning Jaguar collector. A DVD of the restoration process accompanies the car, and with only 850 test miles driven since the restoration, this Series I E-Type is ready for concours and driving events alike.
