Ebay item 1/31/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1964-Jaguar-E-type-Series-1-convertible-/270904362941
Car has a buy it now price of $69,000 for 20 days.

Sellers description:
· This 1964 Jaguar has been fitted with a 1965 E type 4.2 liter engine and a syncro transmission instead of the original 3.8 non syncro transmission (although this is not original it is much more useable)

· Rust free California car

· The car was restored about 8 -9 years ago and it still looks great!

· Approximately 80,000 or 90,000 was spent on the restoration

· Very extensive mechanical work was done on this car so it could be used in rallies etc.. The car has been driven from California to Colorado and back.

· I have known about this car and its owners for the past 11 or 12 years. My friends wife bought it for his 50th birthday 3 years ago and it has been driven 3 or 4 times a week since.. It has been a very dependable Jaguar it always starts!!! Only minor services have been needed since he purchased it...

· There are a few small imperfections in the paint and some small dings on the rear deck lid (see pictures) Very minor!!. This car was used on a regular basis so it has a few imperfections.

· I am listing this for my friend because he is moving so that is the reason it is up for sale.

Car to be auctioned in Paris, Nov. 2nd 2014 at:

www.classicdriver.com/en/auction/artcurial-motorcars-automobiles-sur-les-champs- ...

very funny that a California car that had been restored ca. ten years ago and for sale a couple of years ago in Thousand Oaks, CA in the US, would now have been restored for 1300 hours near Paris! Also this is very clearly a 3.8L and the only thing from a 4.2L is the gearbox!

Caveat emptor!

Description

French title

- Fresh from a 1300-hour high level restoration
- Very desirable Series 1
- Timeless design

This Jaguar E-Type Series 1 from 1964 has the assets of the 3.8-litre car with its turned aluminium dashboard, small seats and the front and rear styling coupled with the mechanical advantages of an 4.2-litre engine and gearbox that provides a more flexible, powerful and agreeable drive. This example is superb on all levels, having benefitted from a thorough restoration carried out at a professional workshop in the Paris region. Totalling some 1300 hours of labour, the work covered the body, mechanics, interior and running gear, with results of a very high quality. The car is presented in light blue with a dark blue alpaca hood, and dark blue leather seats and carpets. Chrome 72 spoke wire wheels finish off the car perfectly.
This E-type, with its faired in lights, corresponds to one of the most highly sought after versions, before the body shape lost its purity with the introduction of bigger lights imposed by American regulations. Moreover, the 4.2-litre engine provides more torque than the earlier version while keeping the magnificent overhead twin-cam set-up. This is therefore a very interesting cabriolet-bodied example, in an impeccable condition that merits attention from every enthusiast.
