Current bid $5,100.00 (Reserve not met) 3bids 9days left in auction. Buy it now price $28,000.

    Sellers description.
You are bidding on a 1964 Jaguar E-Type Series One OTS, 3.8L DOHC, 4 speed, 4-wheel disc brakes, convertible. I can rave on about the Jaguar XKE's introduction at the 1961 Geneva Auto Show as the beautifully styled 150 mph sensation whose style and performance triumphs have worn well into the next century but I figure that if you are looking at an early E-Type you alreay know all of that. This is a Series One car, the most pure production model of the original design, the smaller air intake, the narrow delicate bumpers, Perspex covered headlamps, smaller more delicate park and taillamps, aluminum dot patterned center console and dash, toggle switches for interior and lamp controls, 3.8 litre dual overhead cam, triple SU carburettors, 4-speed Moss box, 4-wheel disc brakes (originally Dunlop but the fronts have been converted to the more efficient and modern Willwood calipers as the original radiator has been conerted to a Team CJ Alloy Unit), original Dunlop wire wheels (5) with two eared knockoff spinners and the artistically yet not so ergonomically designed S1 roadster seating. This is definitely a project car. I have owned this XKE for about 6 years and when I purchased it the floors needed to be replaced as did the soft top (the top #1 bows are broken) and installed a few modifications (such as the brakes and radiator stated above and a single wire GM alternator, I still retain the original generator) and used it as a nice driver for a few years. After sitting unstarted or a few months the engine would not turn over, not from the flywheel, crank snout, plugs out, soaked in every lubricant imaginable so count on an engine rebuild. This car has sat not running for approximately 3 years now. This car is basically a complete S1 OTS that would require a full restoration. As you can see the original radio is long gone. The engine bay data plate reads as follows:
    CAR# 880256
    ENGINE# RA-3762-9
    BODY# R7043
    GEARBOX# EB11897JS
Stamping on cylinder head is RA309-9

    Well, well -
    a project to behold!
Perhaps not the historically most significant 3.8 OTS, but extremely well worth preserving! Let us hope that its originallity will be kept as far as practically possible and that the lucky winner of the auction will have the reqired ice-in-th-stomac" to pull it through the way this car fully deserves! The present (Oklahoma) vanity plate says it all: COPBAIT.......
    Merry Christmas to ye' all!

Much more than just a Jaguar model, the E-Type is a representative emblem of the British company itself, which does not forget the importance of this car in creating the sporting image that still endures today.

At its launch, the E-Type caused quite a stir when it first appeared, with instantly classic lines and a top speed of 241 km/h. Nowadays, it would be impossible for a single model to make that much noise, but it was a production sports car with a civilized streak that looked like a Le Mans prototype. The E-Type's design owes much to that of the racing D-Type: a monocoque chassis that forms the main frame with a space tubular frame extended forward to support the engine.

This is an E Type 3.8 Series I Roadster in its original condition.
