    Sellers description:
This 1964 XKE OTS with matching numbers was part of a private collection of cars. The car was restored by the previous owner at great expense with some documentation which will be supplied to the new owner. The restoration was performed about 12 years ago and the car has been sitting since 2009 because the previous owner had passed away. In this high level driver restoration the car was completely repainted, the interior is all new as well as the top. During the restoration process new tires and wheels were installed as well as bright work re-plated. There is a radio blanking plate in the car. The vehicle has a new stainless steel exhaust system, new wire loom, new shocks front and rear, new hydraulics, new cooling system, the gas tank was taken out, hot tanked, epoxy sealed, and painted. The engine has been rebuilt and an auxiliary fan was installed. Classic Showcase has serviced and prepped the vehicle to be driven. Generally this car is in good shape and very collectable. For your satisfaction we would recommend having an independent outside buyers inspection evaluation performed on the car because Classic Showcase did not do the restoration on this vehicle. This will provide answers to unknown questions.

    Dublicate or bug???

Car offered under: www.rmd.be/index.php/cars/inventory claims also to be 879718. Car for sale at this dealer already since mid. 2012 (before last Ebay auction) --> cannot be the same car. Heritage Certificate from this dealer also claims, car was originally Golden Sand with light tan interior!

Someone should have a closer look on production number plate, engine and body number etc. Both cars are not cheap - it is hard to find out, that your just purchsased car exists a second time!

    Thanks

Just found picture of this pale yellow car featuring the production number plate. This is definitely not the original one even missing the body number! Not saying, that this car is not the original one but I simply would be very careful!

    *Beautifully presented in Primrose Yellow

*Comprehensive refurbishment performed in the early 2000s

    * Great classic for weekend getaways or rallies

*Offered with Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate and history file

According to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate issued for this stunning Series 1 E-Type, the car was delivered new to the U.S. market, being supplied through Jaguar Cars New York, to first owner J.P. Small, also of New York. The new Jaguar was dispatched on Independence Day, 1963, configured as a left hand drive example, and was finished in Opalescent Golden Sand over a tan upholstery, and fitted with a black top.

It is unclear for how long the car remained with its first owner, but while in the care of one of its most recent owners, the attractive E-Type Roadster was treated to a comprehensive refurbishment. The work included a thorough strip of the paintwork before it was professionally repainted in the current Primrose Yellow, a period Jaguar color. A new interior was installed, as well as a new soft top. During the restoration process new wheels and tires were installed and the bright work was re-plated. Further work included installation of a new stainless steel exhaust system, a new wiring loom, new shocks front and rear, rebuilt hydraulics, while the cooling system was refurbished and an electric fan was installed.

Still intact with its matching numbers original engine, this fine E-Type should prove to be an enjoyable entry to such rallies such as the Copperstate 1000. These elegant early first series examples of the legendary Jaguar E-Type are the purest of the model range, and will always retain the extra cache of being the most collectible of this timeless model.

Please note that this vehicle is titled as a 1964.

    Auction description:
A highly collectible example of the iconic Series I XKE in open-air form featuring pure early styling and continuing to benefit from a high-quality, comprehensive restoration completed circa 1999. Featuring matching numbers 'XK' engine, outstanding color combination, and accompanied at auction by a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate confirming original data.

Verified by its corresponding Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate , this original left-hand drive 'Series I' XKE Roadster was built on June 24, 1963 and finished in distinctive Opalescent Golden Sand with Light Tan upholstery and a Black convertible top. Next, it was dispatched to the United States on July 4, 1963 and purchased in New York by its first recorded owner, J.P. Small. Subsequent history is unknown until the 1990s, when it was acquired by a private collector and given a documented and comprehensive high-level restoration that was completed circa 1999, including a repaint in the current Primrose Yellow finish. Following the owner's passing in 2009 , the E-Type passed through a subsequent owner and most recently to the Consignor, who is a knowledgeable and prolific collector in California. Beautifully finished and presented and retaining the matching numbers engine, this exceptional XKE is a simply outstanding example of the most collectible - and desirable - 'Series I' XKE, in the best open-air form!

During 1963, Jaguar produced only 2,023 open two-seat roadsters, including this car, which is noted on its Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate as having been dispatched to the United States on July 4, 1963. Its original owner was J.P. Small of New York. Subsequent history is unknown until the 1990s, when it was acquired by a private collector and given a comprehensive restoration, completed in 1999, including a finish in the factory shade of Primrose Yellow. The color is striking against the brown leather interior and tan soft-top, as well as the chrome wire wheels shod in blackwall tires. The E-Type was eventually acquired by its present owner and is reported to still be beautifully finished and presented, as well as retaining its original matching-numbers engine.
