Seen on eBay. Ad reads:
This is a great 3.8L XKE driver. Well maintained, and a good 20 footer. It was originally a Florida Car that I acquired in 1998. The original owner's eyesight had failed and he kept the car for many years until selling it to the 2nd owner from whom I purchased it.
While I love the car, my business has allowed very little time for it the last two years and less time going forward.
Vehicle Condition
The 2nd owner had done a good deal of work on the car mechanically including an engine rebuild about 10,000 miles ago. The car has matching numbers except for two very recommended upgrades being the transmission had been upgraded to the E-Type sync 4 speed and it had been converted to a negative ground. I have driven it 1,000-3,000 per year only during the summer and never in rain or snow. It is a solid driver and I recently upgraded the cooling system to a high flow OEM radiator and other modest upgrades.
The top is a high quality canvas piece in good shape, the interior leather is original but tired with a crack on the driver's seat, all instruments work except for the tach, and I have the original AM radio and original rare cross-hatch aluminum console covering if the new owner wants to restore it to original. The chrome is decent, but not perfect with some hazing and minor pits on the taillight chrome. The paint is from a prior restoration and about 10 years old and has some minor cracks.
I have not done any body work on the car, but there is some putty in the driver's side door, and a small spot over the rear wheel about the size of a pencil eraser that has a bubble. There are also a couple of paint bubbles on the front hood over the exhaust manifold where the paint had blistered. There is no rust through on the car, and no rust that I know of. The pan under the spare wheel is solid and has no rust.
