This British icon underwent an extremely extensive restoration and has less than 1,000 miles since completion! This matching numbers XK-E Roadster features the 3.8L motor, 4-speed manual transmission, chrome wire wheels, and full tool set. Other notable features of the Series 1 XK-E include triple SU carburetors, covered headlights, and power-assisted four wheel disc brakes.
The Series 1 was initially introduced in March of 1961 for export only. From factory, the E-Types featured independent coil spring rear suspension with torsion bar front ends. This example has had a few upgrades to improve drivability including. The 3.8L motor was standard until 1965, and the manual transmission has been upgraded to a fully synchronized gearbox.
This timeless British Grand Tourer still ranks highly on the world's top “100 most beautiful cars” of all time, and even Enzo Ferrari was quoted stating it is “The most beautiful car ever made”. No expense was spared during the restoration process, well documented restoration receipts will be included in the sale.
