Ebay item 8/8/07

Current bid $5,100 reserve not met, 2 bids, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
I purchased this car not running with the intension of doing a full restoration on it some day. Well, today I want to buy a house and realize that I need to sell my E-Type in order for my wife and me to begin our new life together.

Up for your consideration is a 1963 Jaguar Series I XKE E-Type 3.8 Roadster. According to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate this E-Type was originally built on March 13th 1963 and was finished in Opalescent Dark Green with a Suede Green Interior and a French Grey Soft Top. In my opinion this is a very rare and desirable color combination. I have confirmed that all of the numbers match on this car, the identification plate on the passenger side under the air box, the New Jersey State Title, as well as, the Heritage Trust Certificate. I even took apart the interior to find and confirm the Gearbox Number and the original body tag, all of which match. The Engine and Head Numbers match with 9 to 1 compression ratio. This is a very unmolested vehicle with no visible accident damage and No Rust! My E-Type has a 101,420 Original Miles on it.

Chassis Number: 879167 Engine and Head Number: RA 1332-9 Body Number: R 5789 Gearbox Number: EB 9443 JS

There is NO VISIBLE RUST on this vehicle! It has excellent oil pressure and does not smoke. When I purchased the vehicle, it was not running. I was told by the seller that it did run when it had been parked ten years prior in their climate controlled garage. Well, I took the risk and dragged it home. Since then I have done the following:

* Sent the gas tank out to be professionally dipped and coated inside and out. It has a lifetime warranty from Gas Tank Renu USA.
* New SU submersible fuel pump and gasket.
* New fuel sending unit and gasket.
* New gasket on the fuel pick up.
* New vent hose on fuel tank with proper clamps.
* New fuel tank filler hose with proper clamps.
* Checked and cleaned out all fuel lines.
* Reinstalled Gas tank.
* Rebuilt the Triple 2 inch SU Carburetors with new parts, as needed.
* New Bosch Platinum Spark Plugs.
* New Radiator Hose kit with proper clamps.
* Sorted through the wiring harness and made repairs as needed.

All Parts were purchased new from Steve at XK’S Unlimited.

The E-Type now starts right up and quickly goes to about 50 lbs of oil pressure. Once the temp gauge reaches around 150 to 170 the oil pressure settles in at about 40 lbs. The car does not smoke and shifts smoothly through the gears. There are no major leaks and the vehicle idles well. The brakes work and all gauges are in working condition. All lights and signals are working.

This E-Type is surprisingly complete! Only the following few things appear to be missing, the radio and speakers, tools and jack.

Additional Information added: All of the glass has the appropriate Triplex name and label on it; the windshield, both side windows and the headlamp covers. The chrome or bright work is all-original with a perfect fit. The bumpers fit great with no waves in them. I have an original E-Type hard top that has an original headliner and all of the chrome and fittings still on it. It needs to be restored and I will offer it to the final buyer for an additional $2,000.00. I cannot stress enough how great the body is on this car. THERE IS NO RUST! THERE IS NO RUST! THERE IS NO RUST! Several people have inspected my E-Type and no one has found any Rust. ONLY One small spot of filler was found under the passenger door. Please read my feedback! This E-Type is a perfect candidate for a concourse restoration or to be a great driver! Interior appears to be non-original in some places.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
