I owned XKE #878615 from 1966 to 1968. It was a black 1963 roadster with red interior. None of the other numbers match what is listed on this page. These pictures are very different from the car I had. I have more details if the owner is interested.

Car returns to eay 6/25/18
www.ebay.com/itm/1964-Jaguar-E-Type/332697713978
Opening bid US $75,000 reserve not met no bids reserve not met, 6 days left in auction, seller merbenztem, car still in Jessup, Maryland, 1.5k miles stated.
Sellers description:
1964 XKE, It is UNLIKLY that this is a matching numbers car. The car was purchased already apart. Speedo was rebuilt and started at zero. All major parts are period correct meaning that the engine, trans and body are very near 1964. Items that are NOT 1964 - Reduction gear starter, alternator, radiator (aluminum) windshield wiper motor and radiator fan motor. Completely rebuilt. Engine has higher compression pistons if I recall correctly are 9/1 pistons, hotter cams and triple carbs tuned to match the cams. Head was rebuilt buy local shop with new guides and valve job. Rebuilt 4 speed trans with new bearings, and secondary shaft, Re-build rear with differential coming from one of the national dealers. All new brakes, bearings and suspension bushings. All metal floors have been replaced. Paint is good but is 5 years old and shows some scratches and chips. Good consistent oil pressure, does leak out the rear seal some. Seal expansion additive in the oil slows it down a lot.

Auction description :
1962 – Jaguar Type E 3.8 Cabriolet
