Description from above auction:
878369
French title
Chassis n° 878369
Engine n° R8009-8

- One owner since 1988
- Carefully maintained
- Lovely presentation

This car has the unbeatable charm of old restorations. Despite some defects in the paintwork, it is clear this E-Type roadster has been well looked after. Delivered new in November 1962 by the Garage Claperade in Geneva, Switzerland, it was bought by our collector in 1988 from a specialist in English cars. In 1999, the car had a major service in the SPR workshops (ignition, carburettors, the charging circuit, seals, brake overhaul, new rear shock absorbers etc), and there is a file detailing the work carried out. Today, this 3.8-litre Series 1 roadster has 52,612 miles recorded and is presented in attractive midnight blue with discreetly patinated beige leather interior with matching carpets. A period Blaupunkt radio graces the dashboard and the beige hood and matching tonneau cover are in good condition. We have noted the absence of a stamping on the front part of the chassis. The car will be sold without technical inspection (MOT), however a test-drive on the road revealed that the car is running properly. The car has not been used regularly in recent years and a service is advised in order to fully enjoy this open-top car complete with powerful engine.

Estimation 50 000 - 70 000 €

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
