Sellers description:
This absolutely stunning 'matching numbers' LHD Series 1 3.8 Roadster was built on 4th October 1962 and has just been the subject of a total cosmetic restoration and mechanical overhaul to an unbelievable standard.

It was originally ordered by a Dr W D Regestar through Jaguar Cars in New York, but the American owner wished to collect the car in London and drive it around Europe before shipping it back to the USA. It was therefore registered by Jaguar Cars in Coventry in late October or early November 1962 and on one of the well known Jaguar number plates from the period, in this case - 3482 WK.
It has been MOT'd and is currently being re-registered back onto this original number plate through the DVLA after being re-imported to the UK from the USA.

The original owner sold the car in the USA to the next owner who lived in Ankorage, Alaska and it remained in his ownership for 42 years before being purchased from him late last year. The mileage on the speedometer indicates that it has covered 58,632 miles from new and this was confirmed as true and correct by the last owner.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
