Ebay item 2/2/08
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-E-Type-Conv-1963-Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-Roadste ...
Current bid $12,400 reserve not met, 3 bids, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
63 Jag Etype roadster with a 6cyl engine and a manual transmission. The owner is parting out a few of his vehicles due to an illness so heres your chance to own the cheapest Jag of its era in todays market. The interrior is new. The exterrior is very presentable with no visable holes/rust, very healthy and turns heads with amazement/curiousity/awe when in sight, but does have a few flaws (blemishes/dents/dings) in the paint. Mechinacly she is very sound and dependable. Heres a bit of the history: I purchased this Jag in late '06 disassembled and not running from a gentleman in Florida who in 1990 aquired the vehicle from a family member that has owned this vehicle since 1968. Southern owned for +/- 40 some years. Somewhere in the late 80"s this Jag began a restoration process with diassembling, new floor boards and a paint job. Now back together: new interrior; running and tuned; almost complete (no top on vehicle but comes with the old conv. frame and a new top, uninstalled); many extra parts; good tires; some of the chrome is dull but all there;note that this vehicle is being sold miles exempt and that though the odometer shows 38,027, (fact of the matter being so old and impossible to verify) I specify/express that in no way do I imply that the miles are actual/true; not perfect and flawless, and NOT a piece of junk.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
