Its Jaguar Heritage certificate confirms that this 3.8 Roadster left the factory on 17 September 1962, before being delivered the following week to its first owner, the famous Italian industrialist Luciano, by a dealer in Milan. It was finished at the time in metallic grey with a red interior and black hood. It remained in the same ownership until 2002, when Signor Rapi, the founder and president of the Jaguar Club Italia, bought it, attracted by its well-preserved condition. In 2010, the body underwent a high-quality restoration, and a valuation report in 2016 indicated no signs of corrosion or accident damage and well-finished paintwork. Its current owner, the third, acquired the car in May 2016, attracted by its superb overall condition, the rare hardtop and the exceptional patina of its upholstery, which the previous owner had had the good taste to keep. The car has since been meticulously cared for. The remade hood is in good condition, as is the chrome. It also comes with the original tonneau cover and a hood cover. The doors and other panels are well aligned. The "matching numbers" engine runs perfectly; the cooling has been improved, an alternator fitted and a new exhaust system installed recently. The original parts will be supplied with the car. Series 1 E-Types are especially sought after, and it is obvious that enthusiasts should prioritise this car, with its hardtop, clear history and exceptional condition.
