Ebay item 6/513
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Opening bid $70,000, no reserve, no bids 5 days left in auction, buy it now price $80,000.

Sellers description:
High end driver level E Type with restoration completed in 2000. The work included new outer sills, door skins, a brand new bonnet and a bare metal repaint. The car was completely rebuilt mechanically, including the matching number engine and drivetrain, and a five speed transmission was installed. The original matching number transmission is included in the sale. All of the chrome trim was either re-chromed or replaced, and new Dayton wire wheels were installed. The interior, including a new canvas convertible top, was also replaced.

This car hasn't had many miles since the work described above was completed. The paint shines brightly and all of the chrome is in excellent condition. The Dayton wire wheels look virtually new. The glass is in excellent condition, including the Triplex windscreen that was installed during the restoration process.

I bought this car last fall from Classic Jaguar (CJ) in Austin TX, but due to a move and change of jobs I am forced to sell. This car drives like a dream. Classic Jaguar did all the maintenance over the last 5 years. The following upgrades have been completed during that time by them.

· CJ aluminum radiator with built in cooling fan
· CJ aluminum expansion tank
· CJ spin-on oil filter kit
· CJ alternator conversion
· CJ Wilwood front brakes with drilled and slotted rotors
· New brake master cylinders
· Rebuilt rear brake calipers
· Teflon front crankshaft seal
· All new Koni Shocks
· CJ Adjustable reaction plate
· CJ Torsion Bars
· CJ Sway Bars
· New Battery (I replaced)

As you might expect, this is a very strong running and driving E Type. Nothing has been scrimped on its upkeep and the next owner will be buying a great driving, thoroughly sorted, properly maintained car.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
