Ebay item 5/7/04
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $16,100 (Reserve not met), 6 bids, 9 days left in auction.
Sellers comment:
This Jaguar Convertible was purchased from current owners brother who bought it new. The car had about 65K mikes at that time. The current owner brought home, drove sparingly and eventually restored the car to the beauty & elegance you now see within the last 5000 miles. The car is only driven a few hundred miles per year. It is stored indoors and nicely maintained. This car has been in the same family since new and the owner states that these are the original miles!
Engine was fully rebuilt; the gearbox is original and functions as it should. The rear-end was fully removed and undercarriage was completely sanded and repainted during the restoration. The floors are immaculate and rust free. All numbers match on the drive train. The car was originally silver. The interior has new black leather & carpet, a beautiful dash with all working gauges and nice panels.
The brakes were all done at the time of restoration as well as all of the suspension and bushings. Also rubber was replaced, hoses, seals, etc. The car drives and handles beautifully. It has a solid feel and of course, that unmistakable Jaguar sound! Included with this Jag are many boxes of extra parts that were accumulated during the restoration.

Seller added new information that the current owners brother actually purchased the car when 6 or 7 years old.

I'm looking to interact with other Series 1, OTS owners and exhange information and ideas about maintenance and possible fine touches for the car.

I'm new to this website and looking forward to chatting with other owners of Series 1 OTS models. Feel free to ask about common mechanical gripes and other questions. I will do my best to answer them correctly.

I don't know who Pauls is, but I sold my car after the E-Bay auctions ended. Pauls seems to have an affinity of keeping an eye on other people's affairs and I guess that is alright, but some of his information is incorrect. The auction was not pulled for any reason. E-Bay seems to attract many dreamers and wannabe owners, but, when it comes to actually parting with the E. Pluribus Unum in the correct amount, they then turn tail and run like hell! In any event, I got my asking price for the car and the new owner of 877842 is a fine gentleman who will take care of the car properly and enjoy it with his family for many years to come. My congratulations to him on his recent aquisition of a fine example of a great E-type and having the brass and guts to actually buy the car and not play games. I guess this is what separates the men from the boys in the real world. Hats off to the real sports left in this world! Enjoy your car Larry W.! You've well earned it!
Finest regards,
Bob Myers
