I am still trying to find out some of the history on this genuine California car. It is remarkable rot free condition but has been painted once silver over its original Cream. I know this E type was sold new to Columbia Pictures from the heritage certificate but beyond that nothing. I have looked at the list of films and tv programs made by Columbia during 1962/3 and 4 but still not come up with anything. If any one is more of a film buff than me please let me know what ideas you may have. Of course back then Studios used to employ on contract film stars, so the E type may have been bought for one of their stars. Any ideas please let me know here.

www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2022-11-26/cars/ref-156-1962-jaguar-e-type-s ...

Description:

Lot 234 - 1962 Jaguar E-Type Series I Roadster

Registration UK taxes paid Chassis Number 877488 Engine Number R 6035-9 Estimate £130,000 - £150,000

Manufactured on 8th June 1962 and then despatched to Jaguar Cars in New York, this E-Type was repatriated to the UK in 2015. Purchased by the current vendor in 2017 he embarked on a total nut and bolt restoration. The car is now finished in Opalescent Grey with contrasting burgundy interior. The paintwork finish is to a high standard as is the leather interior. Still in its left hand drive guise this Series I E-Type would make an ideal car to travel on the continent, offering style and performance. Supplied with a NOVA certificate and the original US title document, this very special Jaguar really does have to be seen to be appreciated.
