"1963 Jaguar XKE Series 1 Roadster Silver-Blue metallic, 79840 miles, chassis number 877458, one owner since May 1984, 6140 miles in almost 19 years since purchase. Purchased from my boss, who had restored the car using original Jaguar parts. Car was subsequently entered in a concours competition, and was awarded second place (there is a plaque on the inside of the door attesting to this). Title is free & clear, have kept all work records, although there are not many as the car has been used very little and has been very reliable and trouble-free. While I have owned the car, it has always been garaged, never driven in rain, only used at weekends. Car is appraised and valued for insurance purposes at $30,000, and is registered as an antique auto. A great opportunity to acquire the most sought-after E-Type model.


Vehicle Condition

Exterior – Very pretty silver-blue paint, some (very minor) dings, no appreciable body damage of any kind. Car is COMPLETE, no missing parts, all glass and lenses OK. Paintwork has some small blisters on hood, plus some fine cracks that are only visible when you are 3 feet from the car. Rear tires have ¾ tread left, front tires are new. Interior – all original – dark blue with original matching leather seats. Seat leather is slightly faded in places, but leather itself is in good condition, no cracks or tears. Black canvas soft-top is undamaged, vinyl rear window panel still clear, complete with black canvas cover which can be put in place when the top is down. All instruments are complete and in good working order – the speedometer was repaired in 1989, when it was reading 76240 miles (mileage when I purchased the car in May 1984 was a documented 73700 miles), unfortunately the repair shop (it was sent to England) reset odometer to 0 – car has done another 3600 miles since this time. Odometer reset is documented on speedometer company receipt. Engine and gearbox – this is a driven car, subsequently the engine is not pristine, but is complete and in good running order with good oil pressure. At some stage in its history, the original 3.8-liter straight-6 engine was replaced with a 4.2-liter gold-head (high compression) straight-6 unit; this is a very strong engine. Manual transmission, not the easiest changer in existence, but this is normal for this model. "
