An all-matching numbers original LHD roadster built in May 1962. Factory finished in black with red interior, this car is an early footwell example with distinctive flat bulkhead behind the seats, produced shortly after Jaguar dropped the flat floor feature.
First registered in Coventry (Reg No. 1658 WK) as documented by Jaguar Cars Ltd, the car was then shipped to California (Reg No. OYF 475) and driven until 1972-1973 around 86,000 miles since leaving the factory. After it remained stored in a barn until 1991, when it was re-imported back to the UK by Paul Webb, the well known dealer and E-Type amateur racer. Back in the UK, the current owner spared no expense in restoring the car to a perfect standard with E-Type specialists in North Yorkshire. The bare metal restoration of the well preserved bodywork retained most of the original panels and smooth contours that separate the "original" E-Type from a recreation. This car retains most of its original components and noteworthy features such as a period correct Motorola radio, original factory tags on brake master cylinders, and a wonderfully preserved factory hardtop that gives an added feeling of authenticity. The wire wheels are original and wrapped in Dunlop RS5 tires to make you feel you are really driving. The only concessions to originality are a Teflon Stainless Steel Braided Fuel Hose for maximum safety and a Kenlowe Fan to cope with summer driving in Italy. The car comes complete with a nice history file including a full photographic record of the restoration.
Since its full restoration, the E-Type has covered about 4,000 miles, mostly in Italy where the car has been registered and stored for the past 25 years. This car has been well tended to over the years, and retains a charming patina.
This stunning roadster and very desirable early E-Type is on the button ready to go at £ 215,000

U.S.-delivery example boasting nearly three decades of single Californian ownership

A splendid e-Type ready to drive and enjoy
This example left the Browns Lane factory in May 1962 destined for California, ordered as a personal export delivery in black with red leather interior. It features the internal bonnet locks that denote a full production Series I. It remained in the U.S. registered in California with its first owner for nearly 30 years until 1991. At that point, it returned to the UK where it remained for only a while before then being registered for road use in Milan, Italy.
The car underwent an extensive restoration with marque specialists that faithfully kept to the car’s original specification, including the 15-in. wire wheels. Even the engine wears the correct Harvest Gold enamel. Furthermore, it is accompanied by an extensive history file, chronicling its history in both North America and Europe.
