Sellers description:
1962 Jaguar E-Type Roadster Chassis Number: 876397 Engine Number R3280-9 7,400 Original Miles! The E-Type is considered by many to be one of those rare gifts to the automotive world. This brilliant car was the result of a very passionate team with a clear focus. So sensuous was its visual presence that it is widely considered to be the most attractive car ever built. This superb original example was bought new in Beverly Hills, California and was also owned by World Renown collector, Jack Ruscilli. $90k.

Checked out this car at Pebble Beach. Pretty nice. Original radiator. Some Cheney clamps missing. New correct hydraulic reservoirs, now with white caps. Throttle linkage appears to be incorrect, too recent. Some overspray on rubber seals. paint nice, interior nice.

Also, triangular plenum had echos of the 3 later style indented ribs on top -- like they had been filled in but were still visible. Originals don't have any hint of those, as far as I have seen.

Car to be at auction 1/11
www.rmauctions.com/FeatureCars.cfm
Auction description:
Chassis No. 876397
To be auctioned on
Thursday, January 20, 2011
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
- From the Bill Jacobs Collection
- California car, bought new in Beverly Hills
- Only 7,400 original miles, complete set of tools
Sold new in Beverly Hills, this E-Type shows only 7,400 original miles – extraordinarily low mileage and in the best rust-free climate in the world, at that. The first owner kept the car until 1982, though he obviously drove it very little. The E-Type then passed to William Russo, also in Los Angeles, who owned it until 1988 when it was bought by well-known collector Jack Ruscilli. He had the car until 1995, before it entered a private New Jersey collection and was finally acquired by Bill Jacobs in 2006. It comes to market from his extraordinary collection, still with its complete set of tools.
