- Original engine and exterior colour
The example on offer is one of the first " flat floor " examples. According to the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate that comes with the car, this E-Type rolled off the production line on 6 December 1961 and was shipped to Jaguar New York in the United States on December 29. It stayed that side of the Atlantic until the end of the 2000s, notably being registered in California, before being imported into France by an important dealer and collector from the South of France, having already been restored. It was from this well-known professional that the current owner acquired the car ten years ago. This E-Type, in its most appealing roadster version, is presented in its original colour black. The interior, originally red with a black canvas hood, now sports beautiful tan leather upholstery with beige soft top, a perfect complement to the colour of the bodywork. This elegant configuration is completed by centre-lock wire wheels, perforated three-spoke wood rim steering wheel and a superb dashboard with central panel in etched aluminium. During the restoration, the car kept its original engine block and cylinder head, and the odometer, not re-set during the work, records just under 88,200 miles today, which could well be its original mileage. The car has not been driven much in recent years and will require a mechanical overhaul, particularly the carburettors, and the whitewall tyres will need replacing. Once this has been carried out, its future owner will be able to enjoy a car in perfect running and cosmetic condition. It will be delivered with its tonneau cover, jack and toolkit. Always highly sought-after, particularly in this configuration, this E-Type offers an excellent opportunity to access a legend amongst collectors' automobiles.
Estimation 120 000 - 150 000 €
