I bought the car sight unseen from the other side of the country after it had been inspected by a fellow who was an E-Type enthusiast, but perhaps should have had it inspected by a pro!

Nice work on the carb section, Roger. This is the kind of information that comes in very useful for the restorers who go such things on their own!

Hello Roger, I own 876099, which was more or less in the same state as your car when I bought it in 1994. 876073 is very intesresting, with many original parts, specially the steering wheel. It is funny because my car (originally opalescent dark blue) had been (badly) repainted in the same color as your car and is comming from California. With the old paint of my car, they look at sisters! 876099 is now fully retaured since april 1999, I had more or les the same little problems of rust which seems to be the case for all unrestored E type. Looking at your photos, I think you are doing a great job

Congratulations is all I can say. Your attitude is exemplary.I had a similar experience but on the mechanical neglect side....cost? Prohibitive because I am unskilled mechanically. My car is ue1s24352...also bought in New Jersey! Anyways keep us in the loop and again congrats! Cheers!

Thanks for all the encouraging comments. Bill, don't know much about old Jag saloons, sounds like you have a nice car.

WOW - this is really great and helps others to complete / maintain and restore their cars.
Fingers crossed it will come to a successful end and one early roadster will be back on the road. What scares me is the fact that I have a broken in two halfs E-Type sitting in my garage (already completely disassembled) and need complete restoration some time in the future. It also a very early roadster (875268) but a hell lot of work.

Roger, you continue to do an outstanding job. These are all the things I had envisioned when I bought the car in 1978, I was the happiest guy in he world that day. While I was in the Army she saw the plains of kansas, she was stored in Iowa while I was in Germany, went to New Mexico where she was painted in 86. In Illinois from 91-97, and in Md until I sold her to you. Looking forrward to seeing the final product.

Car is painted, finally. Another ten years should see it done.

Car is now essentially "done" with some minor details to work out.
