This car was offered for sale by Mark Lieder in the December '80 issue of Ejag magazine. The ad read:

1962 XKE Roadster Flat floor, insert louvers No. 875971. Probably the finest original 3.8 roadster in existence. Beautiful original red paint, tan leather, tools, top boot, unused spare, manuals. Chrome, carpets and mechanics are flawless. 25,000 rust and abuse free miles. Exquisite and exciting. $18,500.

This car again appeard on the cover of the 3/91 issue of Ejag magazine. Its current owner, Kirk Neimeyer, of Oklahoma wrote in letters to the editor:

Enclosed is my subscription and several slides of my Jaguar. The car is a 1962 model and is one of the earlier type with flat floors and welded louvers, series number 875971. It is perhaps one of the most original 3.8 roadsters in existence with its factory Carmen red paint, original tan leather and 27k documented miles.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
