Ebay item 6/2/06
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $22,100, no reserve, 15 bids, 6 days left in auction. 106k miles.

Sellers description:
1962 flat floor, welded loover, convertible. This one is one of the first 600 made (R1901). I bought it about 3 years ago from an older gentleman who owned it for over 20 years. He kept it in the Phoenix area for most of that time. I intended to drive it and eventually restore it but other interests have gotten in the way and it has mostly sat in my heated garage. The car starts easily and runs well. The original motor was replaced years ago with one from another 62 XKE (R-3581-9) and I was told that this motor has less than 20,000 miles on it but I can not verify that fact. I put new tires on the vehicle and they have less than 100 miles on them.I have tuned the engine and synchronized the carbs. Previous owner spent several thousand dollars on stainless brakes from White Post. The car stops straight and true. What I know that doesn't work is the speedo, heater blower, clock, and radio. In the pictures the paint looks good and is OK for a driver. It is about 15 yeasrs old. There are several chips that have been touched up. The body is good but there is evidence of bondo in the sill and lower door skin areas. The chrome is good with the exception of the wire wheels. They have some pitting and vibrate at highway speed. The interior is good. The wood wheel is nice, The seats have been changed to a more comfortable seat and they show wear. The carpet shows fading but no holes or badly worn area. The aluminum brite work in the interior is nice and it has the very rare cross pattern instead of the common dot pattern. The top has no holes but the back window is somewhat foggy. A new top comes with the car.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
