875012 is reported to be the car tested by Road & Track, although this has not been confirmed. The car pictured in the road test in the Septernber 1961 Road & Track has wide-whitewall tires, and a side-mounted backup light lense. In early 1990 875012 was rumored to be located in a field in Illinois.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
