Info gathered with permission from: www.hendi.nl/xke/main.htm

875006 was originally shipped to Jaguar Cars New York. In the late eighties it was reportedly located in Georgia in unrestored condition, to have never been fitted with a backup light, and, like 850003, to have no guides for the side windows.

This car is VERY distinctive as it has a lot of features or differences from the later standard production cars. For instance it has no chrome window channel post sticking up from the front of the door to steady the leading edge of the door window glass. It also has the data plate under the bonnet mounted on a vertical section of the firewall instead of horizontally down on the small leg in front of the firewall. I am sure I am missing a few other differences but perhaps the owner will chime in with some additional details.

why is the picture different from the 875006 i saw at fairfield in sept.2011..........and don't say because he painted it! i thought it stayed the same color since day one? look at fairfield concours pics/ (i think i have too much time on my hands)

Because he painted it. (this car is well documented to have been built in opalescent bronze with suede green interior, and the two engine detail photos from 2003 posted above would seem to confirm that the engine compartment and subframes remained in their original bronze colour through the years)

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
