When one considers that there were less than 2000 right hand drive examples of the Jaguar 'E' type 3.8 fixed head coupe built and that there is probably less than a few hundred left, we are justifiably pleased to offer this original U.K. example today.
This car had an amazing amount of money spent on it in 1990, in excess of ú35000, and over 1200 man hours of of labour as well. This was done, not only to create a showpiece that was just like it was when it rolled off the production line at Browns Lane but also one which could be driven and enjoyed as it was meant to be. They succeded on both counts.
We are not going to try to list everything that has been done to this car - suffice it to say there are seven A4 sheets of paper in the history file which can be viewed by any prospective purchasers. It has the correct cross-ply tyres fitted and it is finished in Dark Blue with Red leather trim and the whole car is complemented with chrome wire wheels. All the photographs and history must be viewed to appreciate the work that has gone into this car and remember it has only covered about 6000 miles since it was rebuilt.
So there is not much more we need to say - it comes with a current M.O.T. until May next year and the exempt tax disc and if you want the best............

I have recently purchased the above mentioned car. Although produced in 1964 it wasn't registered in the UK until 1988. Enquiries to the original dealership and subsequent importer have revealed nothing of its past.

I am trying to trace the history of this car - there are no records from DVLA (DMV) pre 1988 apart from it's re-import from the US as 18ZC097 from Shreveport LA - as it is an original RHD it would have stood out somewhat - anybody got any information regarding it's time in the US?

Further to the above - as there is a large USAF airbase (Barksdale AFB) next to Shreveport LA I was wondering whether a member of the USAF based in the UK might have taken the car over to the States when posted to Barksdale?

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
