Auction description:
Ascot Racecourse May 27th 2023
1964 Jaguar E-Type Series I Coupé
Registration UK taxes paid Chassis Number 861518 Engine Number RA56509 Estimate £75,000 - £85,000
This lovely example is presented in Old English White with a red leather interior and red matching Webasto sunroof. We understand that this Jaguar is an original UK car which was exported to South Africa shortly after being built (possibly 1966) where it remained until recently. Boasting only two owners from new we are informed its iconic 3.8 litre engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox which is a replacement for its original four-speed gearbox from the factory. The car shows good patina and is offered with a NOVA letter from HMRC and it will be the responsibility of the buyer to register the car with the DVLA and it also comes with its original South African registration document. Sleek, pretty and good performance, these Series I E-Types are highly sought-after and in this classic colour combination, it is still a head turner.
