Additional description from above auction:
Finished in silver beige with brown leather upholstery, this particular example is only being offered for sale due to bereavement having formerly been part of a small private collection belonging to the ex-director of a Jaguar dealership. A late 3.8 litre model, it appears to have been the subject of considerable past expenditure. As well as a repaint and new exhaust system, the E-type shows signs of a rear suspension overhaul and partial brake system refurbishment (handbrake assembly, rear discs, front pads, sundry pipes etc). Fitted with a new battery and spark plugs following a period of non-use, 'YUP 100' is now running and driving again. Nonetheless, further checks and recommissioning would be advisable. Said to "run well with no visible smoke and OK oil pressure", this desirable Series I Fixed Head Coupe has recently passed a MOT test. We have been informed that there is a discrepancy concerning the last digit of the chassis number which appears as a '0' on the accompanying V5C Registration Document but as a '6' on the car itself.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
