Car is now located at Classic Throttle shop in Sydney NSW. It has been painted British racing green interior looks original and quite good. the car has been in storage for some years, is untidy but seems original and solid. has had servo fitted at some stage.

As at 28 June 2014 Classic Thrittle Shop's website (Sydney, Australia) describes the car as follows:
"This two owner from new Jaguar series 1 E-Type Coupé has just been unearthed from 36 years in storage!
Delivered new to a business man in Sydney, who used it sparingly for the first few years. Sometime in 1967 he is believed to have traded it in at RC Phillips Sportscars in Five Dock where the second owners acquired it for the sum of $5000. It was driven to Melbourne and used regularly up until 1978 when it was put away under the house along with several other Jaguars for its long term hibernation!
This time warp car has so many original features on it that you never see on an E-Type nowadays, with all its orginal clips, clamps, factory stickers etc. During the time the second owners were using the car the decided to paint it from it original factory light grey, called Pearl which was actually a non metallic finish to British Racing Green. This was done just to the outside of the car and it is not a very high quality repaint. In fact it is coming off in places and we believe that if you have the time and the patience along with plenty of enthusiasm you could successfully get the thin coat of green off the car, revealing the original Pearl grey. This is evident with the engine bay as it is totally untouched and still showing its original colour.
The interior has a superb patina with all the original fittings and trim in place including the carpets and leather trimmed seats and "Ferris" radio, it has that lovely old car smell. With an original 54,000 miles from new this time warp Jaguar will need careful recommissioning with the focus of not restoring it but preserving it our recommendation.
A wonderful barn find Series 1 Coupé."

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
