This car has been sat in a barn for over 20 years.
Tyres were pumped up, wheels removed and seized brakes calipers removed. Towed out and rolled easily onto a trailer.

Congratulations on rescuing another example of the "worlds most beuatiful car". I was once told "all E Types come back to life" and I fully expect your's will as well. Goof luck on your restoration and keep the pictures coming as you progress. Jim My car is 1R35227 if you want a look.

This must have been originally a Buckinghamshire car as it has a KX registration. I had a 1963 Triumph Herald that was 3103KX which i believe was originally sold from a High Wycombe dealer.

Yes this was Bucks car, the first owner was in Amersham.
Upon latest investigation we realised that the car had a very proficient colour change at some point. Originally Opalescent Gunmetal it was completely repainted dark blue in what must have been a complete strip down since there are no signs of masking etc. I guess somone wanted a Blue E-Type and was prepared to pay for it.

Car has now been sold on to someone who promises a full and loving restoration. I will pass on details of this site and invite them to keep everyone informed of the progress.

Are you sure this was built in '63? My chassis # is 887*** and it was built in late '62. Good luck with it!

I read the same Classic magazine article today and leapt to the web page. Still no update from the new owner. What a shame.

4579 KX. I owned this car when I lived in West Lancing Sussex. Bought it from someone in Worthing Sussex. It was a 3.8 6 cyl. and I had the gearbox swapped out for a 4.2 all syncro box, and the work was done by Bob Oram, a repair shop under the arches in Shoreham Sussex. Remember that because you had to go up a dirt road between some houses to his shop. That dirt road was lined up with Jags waiting to be worked on. Jags were the only care he serviced. Sold the car back in the mid 70's for 1,000 pounds because I was moving to the USA, where I still live If I knew then what I know now, it would never have been sold. I would have kept it and shipped it. Thank you guys for rescuing my favorite car of all time. Oh, the memories it brings back. First car I ever drove over 125 mph. Chick magnet like you would never believe. I had so much fun in that car.
