The 1963 Jaguar E-Type 3.8 Series 1 Semi Lightweight ‘FIA’ (chassis no 860917) offered here at Autostorico is finished in Opalescent Silver Grey metallic with Black interior. Having been built to a very high standard this proven reliable E-Type is race ready. The engine benefited from a full rebuild by Scholar Engineering and included a balanced crankshaft, Carillo rods, lightened flywheel, JE pistons, baffled sump, high flow oil pump, new cam chains and guides, fully gas flowed cylinder head, Piper cams, new water pump, new distributor, new oil filter housing and hard engine mounts. The gearbox and axle have undergone a complete rebuild to race specification including an 8” clutch.
The Monocoque is in original steel as are the rear wings and front frame. The bonnet, doors, boot lid and hard top were manufactured by Rod Jay at Racing Jaguar and certified FIA approved roll cage fitted by Custom Cages.
The car sits on standard homologated 1962 suspension but with heavy duty race torsions bars with height adjustments and modified alloy front camber mounts. It has MK9 front brake discs and callipers and a Quickrack steering rack, double adjustable shocks by GAZ. new hubs drilled to accept “D” type alloy wheels and new bearings and seals throughout.
The rear suspension cradle has been shot blasted and powder coated, the whole assembly has been fitted with new seals, bearings and shims. New “V” block mountings, new upright bearings and seals, new hub adapter and spinners, new rear discs, callipers with stainless steel pistons.
A new aluminium radiator by “Pro-Alloy” and foam filled 95 litre alloy fuel tank has been fitted. As has new pumps and lines throughout and a new E-Type wiring loom from Jaguar. FIA spec stainless steel exhaust system.
Supplied with a comprehensive history file including FIA/HTP papers valid until 2027 Current V5 registration document and numerous invoices.
