Unsold at Collecting Cars auction 30 April 2024. Passed in at $AU102,000.
Description -
"The seller states that the car began life in the UK before being exported to Kenya in the ‘70s, prior to its importation to Australia.
Acquired by the seller some 38 years ago, the car is noted to have been restored in the years following 1986, when it was repainted from its original Opalescent Green hue to the current Carmen Red. The car is noted to have been stored since then and has only covered 16 miles following the restoration. In March 2024, it underwent an extensive recommissioning service.
The seller believes the engine block has been replaced as it is dated October 1962 and the car was first registered in April 1962. The cylinder head is noted to be ‘numbers matching’."

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
