Chassis 860371 was manufactured in March 1962 in Opalescent dark green with a suede Green interior, sold through the 'Scottish Motor Traction Company' based in Carlisle. The registration was 418 LRM and the first owner was a Mr. G.K. Fraser.
Advertised on Ebay last week but sold off ebay ( bidding had reached £39,200 before being taken off ), here is what was said on ebay advert ...
My brother and I had plans to rebuild it either as a track day car or carry out a full restoration to as close as possible to original, but due to lack of time and other projects needing attention we have decided to put her up for auction. Lots of new panels and welding have been done including floors, inner and outer cills, rear wings etc.etc
Further bodywork is still required but what's remaining to do is certainly within the scope of the home restorer with a decent welding machine.
It is finished in a red oxide primer, and is a rolling body with rear suspension / front suspension, steering rack and column. The correct 3.8 E-Type engine comes with the car but not matching numbers.
As you may be aware early restored E-Types are making close to £200k, or if you try to buy from an E-Type specialist £250-300K, with many being LHD American imports. So this has to be a great opportunity for someone to restore and sell on or enjoy.
What is included is the rolling chassis and engine ( the carbs are not correct but will leave as in photo ), I do have most of the components needed to finish it off in storage which I may sell by separate negotiations. Alternatively all the parts can be bought either new or refurbished from a Specialist.
Please note I have the current V5 for this vehicle.
