This car was for sale at the end of 2008 for £25,000 at a classic car dealership in Malton, Yorkshire. I drove it at the time and almost bought it. However, it was in need of very extensive restoration as the roof was bubbling over the front nearside passenger area. The chassis number was missing from the frame, and the car was a general mess with dropped floors having been retro-fitted.The vendor was classic and sportscar ltd UK, Corner Farm, West Knapton, Malton, North Yorkshire, YO17 8JB, UK

I believe that they might have displayed the car at the 2008 classic car show at the NEC. I was informed by the vendor that a German gentleman was interested in purchasing the vehicle.

The vendor is also selling what it claims to be chassis 860214 Registered mark: 228 AWR, again, having viewed this car it is need of proper restoration inspite of the good looking pictures. Asking price £35,000.

I was the owner from 2005 to late 2008 and part exchanged it to C&SC Ltd when I bought a RR from them late last year. The car's colour was originally green, although opalescent, and it is now BRG. To put the record straight - the roof had been damaged when the old duffer who restored it shoved a screwdriver into its corner while trying to fit a sunvisor or rooflining. It was not rusty. Incorrect dropped floors will have been fitted way back when the car was worth little and is a common 70s 'fix'. The car's 80s/90s restoration was generally amateurish (welding, door foit etc) but mechanically it was very together and it went like a train. I sold it for a little less than the £23k C&SC then asked for it (not £25k). If this car was fault free it would be worth £35-40k. Hi, I now own the car and have absolutely no complaints about it. I bought it from C&SC, and ok the body is raggy, and is probably going to cost me an arm and three to four toes to put right but I've had 5 years good motoring from it. The mechanicals are very good apart from the odd electrical niggle but hey its old what the hell it gets driven in all weather.
