This is a very early series one, flat floor, fhc E-type, number 36 off the production line. I have owned the car for over twenty years and it has undergone meticulous, substantial renovation. The car has had a few, discreet updates to improve it's suitability for driving on to day's roads. However the original items have been kept.
THE BEST POINTS
The car is essentially a rare, unmolested original E-type. The rebuilt engine and gearbox are matching numbers. The original leather and carpets are in good condition and therefore retains it's original patina. The car has been taken back to bare metal, where appropriate and resprayed back to it's original colour, dark opalescent blue. The engine has just been rebuilt by E-type specialists, Moss Jaguar and covered around 750 miles, which is freeing up nicely. However, as I am still 'running in' I am still taking things gently.
KNOWN FAULTS OR DAMAGE
Over the twenty years of ownership, I have attended to any known faults and the car must be one of the finest examples of the Marque currently available. There are two tiny blemishes to the paintwork, but you would need me to show you where they are.
THE STORY
This car was first purchased by the Marquis of Exeter in 1961. I have tracked down two amusing stories of trips made by his daughter in the car. More recently, this car represented the Marque at HAC and again at The Hampton Court Classic Car Event.
