  • Supplied with green log book
  • Appears to be largely complete
  • Supplied with hood and frame
  • Offered with with genuine E Type door skins

We are delighted to offer this 1963 Jaguar E Type Series 1, which is ripe for restoration. Originally sporting the registration BNJ1 which was transferred in 1975 and replaced with 6988TU. This example is evidently in need of full restoration but appears to be largely complete. Supplied with green log book and an MoT certificate from 1974.

6988TU has been off the road for just under 50 years, and was originally sent in for a bodywork repair on the bonnet. The owner of the body shop, the vendor's father, then purchased the vehicle, but unfortunately never got around to finishing it. It has been sat in dry storage until it got pulled out and brought to our premises in Cheshire.

This Series 1 has been modified with later style headlights and fitted with a Series 1.5 exhaust. You will also find that this E Type has been equipped with a towbar. The vendor states that the story behind this is that a previous owner had it fitted because he was one of the first people in the area to own a jetski, therefore he used to tow the jetski with his Series 1 E Type back and forth from the harbour.

A rare, matching numbers 3.8 E Type which is a highly rewarding project to get your teeth into.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
