Sold by Hofmanns of Henley of Thames in Summer 2023. Amended seller's description below.
www.hofmanns.co.uk/sold-car/jaguar-e-type-3-8-series-1-roadster
This UK supplied, numbers matching right hand drive E Type Series 1 3.8 litre roadster has been subject to a complete nut and bolt bare shell restoration to present one of the best usable road going examples that we have seen. Accompanying this stunning E Type is the car's original buff logbook, operating manuals, continuous history going back to the original owner, along with a complete history documenting the care, love and attention that has gone into the restoration of this iconic sports car. This beautiful drop head roadster bears its original early number plate. It remains unmodified from factory specification with the exception of an upgrade to a 5 speed gearbox. The original gearbox is supplied with the car to maintain matching numbers originality.
The car is finished in Dark Blue and was painted by specialist Normandale of Daventry. The car is impeccable throughout, the chrome work is in flawless condition and the original 72 spoke wire wheels have been refurbished to a perfect standard. The interior has been retrimmed in light grey leather, and along with the switches, dials and internal brightwork is in impeccable condition. The newly trimmed convertible hood provides full weather security. The car has been comprehensively restored, and then fully set up for road use by us. It offers classic motoring at the turn of a key and is accompanied by documented photos of the restoration.
