We are always looking for exceptional classic cars from any manufacturer but it is always very pleasing to get an 'E'-Type, from the Browns Lane Jaguar stable, as it is one of the definitive British classic sportscars of all time.
This original right hand drive 3.8 'E' Type roadster is the 391st example off the production line and was exported to South Africa. The car is believed to have only had two owners from new and we have been informed by the vendor that only 1500 miles has been completed since it underwent a complete restoration. The bodywork was completed by Maissi Motors in Johannesburg with Heritage Cars taking care of the mechanical aspects and this was all completed to an amazing standard and to the original Jaguar specification.
Early 3.8 'E' types in excellent condition command a significant premium of their brothers and sisters and are extremely hard to find. This particular one, which is believed to have covered only 48,000 miles from new, must surely be one of the best examples available today.
Please note: This vehicle now comes with an MOT certificate.

Imported into the United Kingdom from South Africa in 2002. It has been rebuilt and upgraded with the bodywork restored by Martin Robey, engine rebuilt by Sigma Engineering and gearbox converted to a T5 five speed box by Derek Watson. Currently for sale at the Beaulieu Garage for £130,000.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
