THE EGAL
The car was owned by Rob Beck and called the Egal... it was light blue, his prefered colour... Sold in the 70's to new Zealeand.. would love to know where she is now...

I owned and raced and hilclimbed the Egal in the late seventies. I sold her to a Californian in early 1980. When she left me to be steam cleaned for shipment she was immaculate in BRG and on expensive hand cut slicks.i wish I still had her - contact me if you want detailed history if my part in her life.
Cheers, T om

Tom, would love to get some history on the EGal! I uploaded some photos i took of the car in its current state. It is almost ready, needs the interior done, alignment, testing etc. I have a photos of the car taking off at Doune in what looks to be late 70's early 80's I think Kerr was the driver however.
Best, Mike

Some great photos and detail about this car in Phiip Poerter's 'Jaguar E-Type, The Definitive History'. Some shots of both Rob Beck and Barrie 'Whizzo' Williams driving it.
I remember when Tom McCallum also owned the car after Bob Kerr when the car was hillclimbed by him at various venues throughout Scotland.

'Tamthebam' (above Tam the Bampot) was Tom McCallum's nickname, Scottish dialect for 'Tom the Nutcase'
Believe he also owned WOO 11 the Ex John Burbridge car for a while as well, also ex Bob Kerr.

Tamthebam's son here... yup, he traded the 4.2 FHC E type with Bob Kerr for the EGal... from what he told me at the time, the Egal was just too hairy for Bob to race !
